I'm not aware of any in Hillsboro, but the Train Station in Mountain Lakes is about a 25 minute drive up route 287.
Tony's Train Town in Ewing NJ (by Trenton) right off I-295 by Trenton Airport.
Hobby shop in Dunellen ....

The Train Station should have anything you need, and is worth the trip even if you don't need anything. The days of a train shop, or even hobby shop, in every decent sized town are long-gone.
Tony’s is called Trains and Things. It’s off of Scotch Road by the Trenton Airport. Greenberg show is Thanksgiving weekend in Edison.
I can recommend The Model Railroad Shop on the border of Dunellen and Piscataway. As I see the importance of supporting local hobby shops I am giving them more of my preorders. The selection isn't as big as it used to be for O gauge but the people can be friendly and can help someone learn and get what they need. They can go and check out some sets in person.
Thanks to all for your responses ,i have forwarded them all to the relative .
