I have a Premier S2 dummy unit that I'm planning to turn into a powered engine.

I'm looking for a parts diagram. The MTH site doesn't have any diagrams up at the moment. I'd assume the Railking line would have the same parts.

The body is complete but the trucks are stripped of all drive-line parts except the 4 wheels and drive gears.  I have motors.

Email or PM if you have one.

I don't have a similar engine to look at, but most diesels have a captive worm gear that would be very hard to install.  However, the pictures of the truck bottom in the manual at least suggest this might be one of the models that had the capability to have hi-rail or scale wheels.  In that case, it might be possible to access the gears without major surgery.

You continue to amaze John. I noticed that the bottom of the tank has a pair of spaces for switches for 3R/2R operation.

So I'm actually in better shape than I thought. I had purchased a S2 parts lot from a forum member over the winter. I have the motors, and I thought only one truck (he said the 2nd was for a Lionel engine). Looks like both are MTH trucks, complete with all gearing, and I was able to mount the motors and install them into the frame.
The rear truck is slightly different and the side frame and rear pilot mounting holes don't line up. I think that this can be overcome with some drilling and tapping new holes.

I will need (2) pick up rollers, the plastic cup it sits in, and the hardware required to put it all together.
Looks like there is a small plastic insulator that both the power and common wires attach to as well.
New front and rear electro-couplers will have to come from Lionel (compatible with ERR).

Take a look at the following pix.

I was going to suggest checking this document, but looking at its table of contents the S2 isn't there:

Here's the link for anyone needing a parts list for what is listed in the TOC:

I checked that one before I posted.

Thanks guys.
Looks like the GP trucks are the same. I can pull the part numbers now and get the order in.

Placed the order with MTH for the remaining parts I need. I hope I didn't miss anything.

Thanks to @gunrunnerjohn and @Mellow Hudson Mike  for the leads and parts lists.

Searching MTH parts site is #$%!!! frustrating to say the least.

The old MTH parts ordering was far worse than the situation is now!!!  Not saying the new site is perfect, but you can now tell if a item is in stock, the price, and you will get it fairly quick.  I'm thrilled with the progress MTH parts has made in the recent, versus the past.

Agreed. Just looking at the number of parts I needed to complete a couple of diesel trucks, it's a monumental task to get each nut, bolt, screw, etc listed on the site.

The order shipped within an hour of my placing it too!

I always have to pause before hitting the order button, I have to wonder if I can get upstairs fast enough to answer the door for the delivery of the parts!

FWIW, the last few orders from Lionel have been MUCH faster as well.  Not quite MTH fast, but within a few days, they're shipping them.  I was waiting a month around the first of the year.

Maryland to Pennsylvania deliveries could be done from a rocket launcher...... Throw a parachute on the box and you could have deliveries show up on your front porch in minutes......

I'm a little further north up on Long Island so it's not quite that fast but I'm impressed with the fast turnaround.
