Need an explanation of Trainz purchases

Why not ask this at the Trainz site? Go to the source and get the RIGHT answer the first time.

Rich's advice is best, but heres some "Cliffs Notes" to get you started.

Shipping is listed in the ad for each item.

The 18% buyers fee only applies to auction items." Buy- it- now" items are not charged this fee.

To figure out the fee of an auction item, simply pull up a calculator on your electronic device and multiply your highest bid x  .18.

i.e. if your bid is $200.   $200 x.18 = $36.  Your purchase price will be $236, plus shipping and tax as required.

And you could read what Trainz states on its website; for example, what's a buyer's premium/how much is it/how is it calculated/etc.:

Just scroll down to "Buying and Selling" (in large red letters) and you will see "buyer's premium."

Same for all of your other questions.

If you purchase one of their "ebay" auction items I don't believe the buyers premium applies. Only when it is on the Trainz site.

Be careful of shipping costs, in one part of the listing, most items have a default for shipping: $2.00, but that is only if combined with another purchase.  Real individual shipping costs are below the description and condition and are usually a little high.

I have scored some amazing bargains on their auction site.  Watch newly listed.

Shipping is high and the buyers premium is annoying. But.... I've also found some great deals. A little less aggressive at the end of auctions too, unlike evilbay that can see a price double or triple at the last second.

Buy-it-now is a newer feature and no premium is charged on those purchases. Shipping is combined on multiple purchases.
