I am trying to find the correct short dummy coupler to fit my Premier F3. I want to close the gap because the Proto Coupler is quite long. Someone on Facebook gave me the part number, but when it arrived it wasn't the right part. Requires the T bar shown.

That should do what you want to do, but check the offset of the knuckle vs. what you removed. As long as the coupler you want to add doesn’t have a step in it, it should line up nicely with the opposing coupler just fine. Of course, if you use two DD4-5’s (one on each locomotive) it will line up for sure.

Looks like a 3D print candidate. 
That does look like the coupler on the F-3 I just did. Is your F-3 a PS-3? If you do remove it your front coupler should not be used, may not work. Without adding a resistor on the rear coupler connector. G
