I trying to install a electric railroad cruse commander m in my Lionel c&o allaghaney and I can say what a disappointment first the instructions stink and now my loco barley moves I have tried everything I can think of short of throw it in the trash or asking for my money back can anyone help I added the data wire but I get no sound from the engin when I try to program it and when it runs forward its like it you can hear the motor trying to turn but at full throttle it is barley moving any advise

I've done 4 of them and they work fine. The thing about the instructions is that the installation is so simple, it's hard to describe. You basically just replace the motor driver in the heat sink, move the motor 4 conductor black plug to the new board, plug the 3 conductor jumper in where the 4 conductor jumper was (or just keep using the 4 conductor one...no matter either one), and solder a single wire from the R2LC and plug it's connector into the new motor driver board.

I also remove the unused wire from the single wire hookup plug.

The best is to contact Ken, he is a great guy and will do all he can to help you out. I have done quite a few of the ERR boards both for myself and for other club members. I have had a few glitches but need to admit they were my bad. Don't get discouraged at having a problem with your first conversion, I know for myself the first one I did was a little intimidating but it worked out fine. The one caution I would mention is to use the static free mat that ERR recommends for  handling these boards as they are subject to damage from static electricity.
