Need help on Am Flyer GP-7 48031

Thanks for the part #.    But how do I replace the bulb?  IDK.  Just pulls out ?

Never did one but I suspect the black insert is removable. The new bulb might need to be spliced in unless the new one comes with a connector.

I will be very interested in how this works out. I have the same engine and the front light also does not work.

It may be an LED rather than a bulb.  I had one fail in my Polar Express.  It may have received too much power since LEDs usually don't fail otherwise.  I agree that it looks like the black insert comes out.  Then, the LED/bulb is more accessible for removal.   Good luck on the repair.

The insert just pulls back from the front of the engine.  The wires for the LED make it seem somewhat tight. 

It is a std 3MM LED.  The LED might just be press fit in; it didn't come out when I tugged on it.

Push on it from the outside, then...    Be sure to observe polarity.  Usually the red wire is the positive.

Take a picture before cutting the wires - you can see the difference in the led
