Looking to power two channels with one 180w PowerHouse
Not really sure what to do ... should I cut the plug or get a 6-14194 wire set ?
Also, how do you know which is the hot wire?

Unless your trying to phase other transformers Hot won't matter as input. Whether you want to cut the cable or not depends on whether you think you will use the PH with a Lionel product in the future. To power two TIU inputs, just run a jumper from one to the other. G
That is so simple ... thank you.
There is a molex connector that matches the powerhouse connector. Then you can make your TIU to Powerhouse jumper or get the Lionel 6-14194 for pre-made cables.

I just cut the plug off and crimped on spade connectors. Done.
Since these are molex connectors, I salvaged some wires from an old computer power supply. I removed a black and red wire from a plug which has the male connectors and plugs in nicely into the Lionel plug which has female connectors. No need to use the actual connector or the cutoff the plug on the powerhouse.
The Molex connectors are cheap and readily available at Digikey. The Molex number is on the connector for those.
Application like this, check to be sure that all power supplies are phased properly. Interesting to note that the Fort Pitt Hi-railers modular layout uses, both, Z4000's, primary loop, (4) track power, and PH 180's for power on the engine house/turntable module. Phasing was an issue, solved, by reversing the Primary, (110 volt), power leads on the PH 180's.
We used older two prong adaptors to reverse polarity to the PH 180's
