Hey all, I just received a MTH 20-3229-1E. The electronics work perfect, however it won't track on my O72 MTH Fast Track. It makes the curve but derails when it starts into the straight track. The derailment starts with the rear wheel in both the articulating section and then the rear wheel in the fixed section. I'm at a loss. Thanks.

Is this a scale wheel model vice 3Rail? The rims of the wheels have less flange. G
Another thing is, how level and flat is your fastrack and overall layout? The Bigboy being so long, if the track is not really flat and level, with rises and falls in a short distance at track joints- easy enough to happen with Fastrack at the joints if screwed down too hard- results in the boiler diving into the front cylinders or the front cylinders rising up- either way results in binding and thus derailing. You MUST use a long straight edge, go around your layout and seek and find deviations where your track is not flat and most likely, that lines up to where this is derailing.
Vernon, That's the issue. When installed the O72 track it was too big for the floor covering it set on. (I cannot set up a permanent layout in the house we're in). I have ordered a rug that will hold the entire oval. Thanks for the advice all. BTW it is 3 rail. I did get it to run on 3/4 of the track.
Issue fixed. I have replaced the floor covering, also I found some screws loose enough to cause the moveable pipes above the 1st driver to hit the flange. Also, the draw bar from the tender was bent slightly upward hitting the underside of the Big Boy Locomotive causing the front end to be pushed down enough to where the same moveable piped would slam the drive wheels and cause the track jump. Thanks for all your help.
