Need help with MTH Premier 4-8-4

Is the stripped gear on the motor, or the one that the motor gear drives? If it is the driven gear, MTH doesn't sell individual gears, but you must buy a frame and truck block assembly, if it is available. I have a Pittman motor with a good gear on it that you are welcome to, if that would be of any help. LMK. 

There is an established company - NorthWest Short Line - that has been supplying

wheels and gears to model RR's for, I think, decades. They are nwsl.com.

There is a contact/question info form; I have never dealt with them, but their

reputation is good, and have known a guy or two who has.

I you cannot find a more direct solution (check eBay for MTH parts, frames, fixer-uppers

that you could use for parts swapping - and they do not have to be just your particular MTH loco, either; many parts are shared), then e-mail them with your situation and questions. They do deal primarily with HO, etc - but they know about "us", plus even have a menu item called "Gear Request Form".

A gear is a gear - it's all a matter of specifications; getting it on your axle, dunno...see if you can talk to/e-mail them, if MTH/eBay/etc fails.

Ray,  As Luke states.  I have done this for customers before.  An ASC has to order the frame and swap parts.  I pulled the gear off the bad one and could not find a substitute.  I am sure one could be made with the sample.  G
