The neutral wire (grounded conductor) of the zip cord should also be identified by continuous lines on the outside of the wire or similar markings to identify it as the grounded conductor(commonly called the neutral conductor). The hot wire usually has no markings on the wire itself. This is so the installer doesn't hook up the device reverse polarity. If connected to an A.C. source the LED light will most likely work either way. My LED lights all have an ac/dc switching power supply in them.

The last light I took apart used 8 -3 volt ultra bright white 5000k color, wired in series. 3 sets of these in parallel. Each series string draw 135ma (.135 amps). Total draw was 135ma x 3 = 405ma (.4 amp). About 10 watts compared to a 60 watt light bulb, pretty good savings.

That light was made by commercial electric, the better lights (Lithonia) are far better engineered. I would not attempt to take them apart.
