Is this a Bachmann E-Z Streets item?...
Except for the country of origin words, there's no other manufacturer ID. Runs forward, only...very well, in fact.
Bottom-of-the-barrel part of a collection in which there's no other similar or related items...it would seem.

About the time you were responding, I stumbled across an Ebay auction for a Union Pacific Inspection Beetle...RailKing line. The photos thereof...esp. the underside...looked VERY familiar.
So, with your info we found the appropriate MTH catalogue in our file cabinet! Actually, the 2002 V2 catalog shows the VW inspection cars in the four colors, but the CSX logo first appeared in the 2003 V1 catalog, apparently.
Anyhow, it's still an interesting find. Apparently a short-lived product. I was working at the LHS at the time...I have no recollection of these items (The boss may not have ordered them??).
It's a bit of serendipity for us, too! We have two VW's in our garage...both blue!

Weren't these made by ETS? Note the "Made in the Czech Republic" tag.
Yes, to my knowledge they were made for MTH (RailKing line) by ETS. They're cute little cars. My wife has always liked VW Beetles so I got the CSX one (like the one pictured at the top of this thread) years ago when they first came out.
