HELLO AGAIN AND THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR RESPONSES TO THIS INQUIRY I MADE TODAY. i HAVE DECIDED THAT I WILL NOT BE GETTING INTO SELLING HIS COLLECTION. ITS JUST SO MUCH RESEARCH AND TIME AND PACKAGING AND SHIPPING AND INSURANCE INVOLVED. ALTHOUGH I DID GIVE HIM THIS FORUM ADDRESS SO HE MAY DECIDE TO LOOK INTO THIS WEBSITE AND SELL IT HIMSELF. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR INPUT GENTLEMEN! Hi,
"3 years ago I was given the big big responsibility to Learn, research, and sell my father in laws extensive Railroad collection, O gauge, after he passed away. I met many knowledgeable men (and women) here who helped me and who were very honest in their help to me. Many of the pieces were sold here. I feel it was very successful. Also with my FILaw's American Flyer Circus Train Set sold for a great price! Since then there has been many changes in life and I went on with life, I opened a flea market but did not sell trains. Now I have this awesome opportunity to once again sell an extensive collection for a man who also passed away. His son asked me if I would like to do it again. One problem, I do not have any of my past research or info on all that I learned. First he asked me to do Ebay, I am not found of Ebay selling. I thought firstly of this forum. My question is this..."Is railroading collection still popular, still worth my time and effort again, as I would ask for a percentage of the sale, what percentage should I ask and how can I find some good info on years and gauges and types again and price values at this time? Im just not so sure I want to do all this again without some good info and knowledgeable help like I received here 3 years ago.
Thank you all for your info and input,"
