Hi, I just purchased what I thought was a passenger set of cars for an early thirties blue streak for restoration. The cars are in terrible shape and they exhibit many poor restoration attempts from years of abuse. While stripping the paint ( automotive spray can enamel ) off the cars, I noticed that the insides of each of the 617, 618 and 619 cars was coated in what I thought was silver paint under the blue.  Come to find out, its chrome or nickel. It was clear that this was never a blue streak set. So please tell me everything you guys know about the silver streak set. Did the silver streak set come with a three passenger cars or only two? The Greenberg guide only shows two, but there is chrome or nickel on the inside of all three cars. Thanks for any info

The correct Set# is 267E/W, and the cars listed should be two 617’s, one 618, and No 619.  The side panels should be chrome, and the side panels will determine when made, along with roof color.  The earliest issue had fluted sides, and you need to provide the number of doors, as to single door or two doors.. Either way, yor referenced Set#. is totally wrong.

Oh, actually the 267e/w is the flying yankee set.  I have one of those.  This is a different set which is pulled by a 265 loco and 261tx tender both with this mess of a set. Maybe there is only one of each passenger car with this set.  There is a 279e on eBay right now and it doesn't appear to have the 617 passenger car.  Thanks the 179e was a typo on my part. The correct set number is 279e.
