For some time I have been looking for a HO scale Mystic Depot for my Lionel OO layout.  I found on at the Madison Wisconsin train show, however it was missing the roof.

so I need some help so I can make one.  Unless some one has an ho scale roof they can measure I can take S scale measurements and re-scale them to ho with a few more measurements.

If some one can give me the measurement in the picture above, in the reply if you can tell me if this was s scale or ho scale measured

above is how my depot looks currently, I hope it will look like the depot below when I am finished

Thanks

Mike,

I do have this in S scale and am including the measurements

A) 6 9/16"

B) 3 9/16'

C) 4 9/32"

D)10 13/16"

E) 1 3/8"

F) 1/2"

G) 25/32"

H) 33/32"

J) 8 1/16"

K) 4 1/16"

There is also a cap on the chimney with a 5/16" hole in it and it extends down the outside of the chimney 5/32"

Hope this info helps you out.

To bad we did not have contact earlier, we could have maybe met in Madison and talked a bit.

Ray

I have a Prewar HO scale one that I use as a background building on my S Gauge railroad. The walls are Yellow and Brown instead of White and Red. I would check the J and K measurements of my model with those of your model to be sure that measurements did not change between models.

The roof is green with a crackle finish that is very coarse. Your model will actually look better than the original if you make the roof resemble tar paper or shingles and the chimney resemble brick or concrete.

Anyway

A=10.5 cm

B=5.8 cm

C=7.0 cm

D=7.2 cm

E=2.8 cm

F=0.8 cm

G=1.1 cm

H=0.8 cm

J=14.0 cm

K=6.8 cm

The Chimney on the HO model has no cap and the hole is 0.35 in diameter.

Have fun,

Little Tommy

Hopefully at lunch I will be able to play with the roof design.  Since the base was rusty and their was a few big chips and a rust spot on the back side of the depot I decided to repaint the depot.  Since this will be used on my Lionel OO layout with Lionel Houses I felt the White/Red was way to bright, so I painted it like the earlier paint colors, the roof is a paper template I made to see how it would look.  I painted it in a green color that I felt was close to the gilbert green roof color.

There are usually a couple of HO scale Mystic stations on eBay at any given time. One that appears to have been mis-labeled as an S scale version (I think) just sold earlier this week for $8.95.

Sometimes the listings have good pictures that can be used to figure out sizing.

Here's one currently listed that's had the price reduced a few times:

The spotting features for the HO version seem to be the offset bay window and the wiring that exits the back of the foundation instead of the side.
