I'm looking for a tech to upgrade my old Lionel 601 Seaboard switcher. It was originally my uncles now it is mine. It has been in the family approximately 64 years. I would like to operate it with my other tmcc and Legacy locomotives. Any suggestions who I should send it to? Thank you Greg

Gunrunner John, GGG, there are others that can do the work.
Looks like a straight ERR AC Commander upgrade. As shipped, it had no lights, but it would probably be cool to at least add directional lighting and perhaps electrocouplers.
Thank you for the info. I will send out to Henning's Trains tomorrow morning. Again thank you.
Greg
The AC Commander will work great. I've installed 4 in the last couple (as well as 2 Cruise Commanders) of months to upgrade some of my older locomotives.
Depending on your DIY skills you could just order an AC Commander from 3rd Rail and install it yourself. It only takes about 2 hours and is very simple and straight forward. Of course I've been tinkering with Lionel trains since I was about 8 and working on cars, including upgrading Ford's EEC-IV processor, for years so the ERR installation was second nature to me. To get the most enjoyment out of the upgrade I'd suggest adding a Railsounds Commander as well, if it will fit.
I'm sure the RS commander can be crammed in there. The only wild card is what kind of speaker we can fit in with it.
