We can do a bit better than that. Run 283, the February/March issue of OGR, will have a Collector's Gallery column discussing the Neil Young Signature Pennsy set.

George Brown has already reviewed the Neil Young Pennsy F3 AAs in Run 275, the January 2015 issue.

This is a significant set in several way. It packs all the latest electronic features into Postwar shaped tooling for the F3s.  I ran them again last night, and even the non powered A has an operating electro-coupler and some cool lighting effects.

The 4 cars are probably the last 15 inch cars made of aluminum we will see in the foreseeble future. They are beautifully decorated and are fully up to the standard of the latest 18 inch cars.  What you basically have with whole set is new wine poured into traditional sized bottles.  Makes for a neat combination that won't be repeated any time soon. Which is one of the reasons why, even at this early stage, the set is a collectible in my opinion.

Thanks, Nawlins, for the photo reference.

And thank you very much for your information, Ed. Great as always. Very coincidental that this review is coming - I'll be eager to see George's review.

I suspect, like me, many of those with modest-sized layouts have really looked forward to these sets (incl. the TX Special), and it's great that they've totally met the high expectations.

I completely agree - the added details installed on these F-3s, along with all the Legacy features (among other things, putting (finally) cruise control in traditional F-3s), together with the highly detailed 15" aluminum cars, make these sets very special.

George's review of the Neil Young Signature Line Texas Special and Pennsy F3 AAs has already been published in the January 2015 issue of OGR.

It took another year before the the engine and car combo sets were released. My column discusses their cosmetic and technical features and gives reasons why I think the Pennsy Signature Line set is already a collectible.
