Some of you on here probably know about the two ex NYC electrics stored outside of Albany, NY. I learned about these locomotives online years ago and always wanted to see them for myself, so yesterday on my way back to PA from Vermont, I drove by where they were supposed to be. Much to my surprise and delight I actually found them and stopped to take some pictures! They're invaluable examples of northeast railroad history and I'm happy to share my pictures!

For those who don't know, the two locomotives are now owned by the Danbury Railroad Museum in Connecticut who are in the process of transporting them to the museum. The Port of Albany is doing construction where these locomotives are currently located and have some tight deadlines before these things get scrapped. Because of this the Danbury Railroad Museum is working hard to raise enough funds to move them in time. I'm excited that the future of these engines looks brighter than it did, but it's still not certain. It looks like the the pilots got messed up during the initial move down the property and the stone seems to have been pushed right up against them. The Danbury Railroad Museum has more info and ways to help with this and other projects on their website! https://www.danburyrail.org/
I also caught some NS switching action back in PA. Love the sound of that prime mover!
