TSU Sam is correct about that, and a number of other threads have discussed it and the other LC+ locos. You'll find all you need there.   I have all of them and frankly there is not real difference between any the steamers - all are great..  The Hudson and Pacific - I posted videos way back when, are actually the same basic chassis, and while that is different than the Mikado there is no noticeable difference in operation or running.  All steamers are just incredible bargains, as is the one diesel (GP 7) that I have, too.  I was upstairs running all four until a few minutes ago, and thought to myself, if some cataclysm occurred and all my trains except the LC+ were destroyed, I could happily run with just that forever - hope it does not happen, but they are wonderful locos, all of them.

Hi Lee,

Did you happen to inadvertly look at the "Last" posts instead of "next" posts?  The last post link goes back  to September 2011.  I do it all the time....

That said, I really want one of the LC+ steamers, the Great Northern Mikado would fit perfectly on my realatively small layout..

Wow,  - you are correct in thinking I did not see the date.  I wonder what brought that link up - I was not searching or going through stuff that old stuff.  Anyway, the Mikado is a great loco.

One thin i plan to try, soon, is to change the body on them.  It looks to be fairly easy to slip, say, the body of a GP 7 off and put on another diesel, or the Mikado and put on something else and change the trucks to make it something else.  Brings up all manner of possibilities.
