A friend just received his new MTH 20-20471-1 C-Liner (PS-3) and we attempted to run it using his DCS Remote Commander. Nothing.
Another engine (an older PS-2 ATSF SD-24) was placed on the layout and ran just fine using the R. Commander.
We put the C-liner back on the layout and - nothing. We also tried running it Conventionally (with the R. Commander system NOT powered - only the track was powered) and the F-N-R did not work either.
In fact: the loco seems completely dead; no lights, no sound, no anything - as if all the circuitry was disconnected from the track. It responds to nothing.
It was bought from a reputable dealer as NIB, and it shows no signs of having been on a track.
Any thoughts (besides "send it back")? Our DCS/PS-3 knowledge is minimal. (The DCC/DCS switch is set to "DCS".)
