Twice this week I observed the new Amtrak "Corridor Sprinter" Electric Locomotives from my window that faces the railroad behind my home and and from my back parking area as well. These 70 locomotives that Amtrak will have all by the end of next year are based on the European "Taurus ES-64-U2 Electric Locomotives that are built by Siemens both in Europe and now here for Amtrak. They have been shown in the last few MTH Catalogs as their European counterparts. I would hope that MTH will issue the Amtrak version as they did with the European version of the TRAXX F140 AC-1 that New Jersey Transit operates as the ALP-46.

"Cities Sprinter", or ACS-64.

Based upon the the Vectron platform, and the EuroSprinter, of which the Taurus Es-64 is a part.

And yes, I've indicated my desire to see one in person, directly to Andy E. back at the Amherst show  (as well as pointing out how much of a perfect answer it would be to Lionel's HHP-8, which in real life is considered a lemon )

As for a Siemens S70, yes I'd buy a few of those too. It'd be a bit of an engineering challenge along the lines of the Electroliner (and I think the S70 has substantially smaller wheels)

I don't recall seeing anything about MTH having an exclusive license to market Siemens models in O, though.
