Dave: Regarding The "New Base3 How To Video: Connecting the new Base3 WIFI":

When available, and I have downloaded and installed the New "Base3 System Utility" on my PC, will I be able to connect to the Base3 if my PC does not have WIFI but is connected to my home internet WIFI router by ethernet cable?

I already ordered a WIFI adaptor for my PC if needed.

Like so many others here on The Forum, I am looking forward to Base3's arrival.

Thanks so much for creating this amazing upgrade for running our Lionel trains!!

All of your hard work is greatly appreciated!

Best regards.

Stan

As long as your PC is on the same network as the Base3 regarless whether via cable or WiFi you will be able to access it with the Base3 Utility.

I’ve had the Base3 since it became available.

I’ve had no problems getting it into service operating my system just as good as my Cab2. I can connect via WIFI direct to the  Base3 from my computer. But I’ve not been able to connect the Base3 direct to my home router. I’ve tried the WPS to my ASUS mesh router and direct to my Comcast Xfinity modem/router. Nether method connects. I’ve followed Dave’s video and the well written online Power & Control instructions.

Figured that the Base3 System Utility would make it easier and I’d be in business quickly. Wrong! In spite of trying to connect through the utility I have the same results. No connection using either WPS or using the “WI-FI Settings” tab and “configure connections” operations. Either to my mesh system or direct to my modem/router. I’m usually fairly good at following instructions, but..

Am I the only one that’s having this problem?

Suggestions/cures?

I have a help ticket into lionel support.  There documentation states that Rev  1.26 update firmware needs to be installed on the base 3 before the base3 software utility will work.   I do nojt know how to get the "Firmware-1.26.base3" transferred from my laptop to the base 3.  After that hopefully the utility will work.

The App is the easiest and quickest way to update the firmware.

Thanks Marty,  I had it on my computer.  I will try this tomorrow morning from the phone.  unfortunately my base will not connect to my cab3 app.  It did connect a couple of days ago before I went down the rabbit hole to get the network connection.  I am now in AP mode and my phone is connected to the  lionel ap network but the cap3 applicatiion does  not connect.  i verified the the cab3 had=s all the permissions; however it still does not connect with the ap/network switch in ap mode.  Any suggestions?  I deleted the cab3 phone app and reinstalled and I was able to connect and install the firmware. Getting it to connect to my network appears to be the next challenge.  From the B3Utilfity program on my computer I can not change the field athat defaults to access port ato Network.  Nor from the cab3  app can I enter the userid and password for my guest network to permit that app to change the network settings on the base 3.  Any ideas?
