Might as well start North and head south for this one.

 

Conway Scenic RR in North Conway NH.  Engine 7470 a 0-6-0 switcher.  Is down for its 1472 day inspection.  Rumors had it she would never run again but the folks up in Conway have decided to go for the overhaul.  More info here.

In Maine efforts continue to fund raise to restore Main Central 470 a 4-6-2 pacific.  Once funds are in hand she will be moved and restored.  Two tourist RR have agreed to host 470 when she's operational.  More info here.

Pioneer Valley RR in Essex Ct has three steam engines.  Chinese built(made to look like a New Haven Mike) 3025, #40 2-8-2 and #97 2-8-0.  Engine 40 is also due her 1472 day inspection with hopes she'll be back online by summer.  Engine 97 has been down for a few years now due her 1472 inspection but the decision has been made she will get rebuilt.  97 delay is due to cost, the powers to be were looking for a second hand steamer so to speak that might turn out to be cheaper than rebuilding 97, that has not pained out so she will run again someday.  More info here

So if you want to see steam this summer in New England it will have to be at the Valley RR in Ct.  Please ad if you have more info.
