Looks like a new Evolution series 4400 HP locomotive is on it's way from GE that meets the 2015 tier 4 enviromental law. So who will be first, Lionel or MTH to do this engine. Go to goerie.com for a look. Their web site will not allow me to copy and paste it here.

The biggest change I can see is they(GE) raised the body just in front of the fans to make room for the particulate filters in the exhuast like whats being done on trucks.
I can see Lionel making this but I doubt it will be die cast.
Just my thoughts,Doug
What will be interesting is to see which roads purchase them, and in what quantity.
Good Day,
Did anyone notice the horn placement? on the cab roof!!!

Good question Matt, did GE even have the Gevo used in service by anyone?

That's only for the forward facing horns. There's another set mounted on the back, 'built-in' to the carbody to the right of the road number. And the reason: What else, a Federal regulation on max/min decibels, + carbody height.

I'd guess all the Class I railroads will buyers of this engine! In the GE 2015 catalog it will be the only game in town if you want to purchase GE diesel locomotives that run the rails in the USA.
Who will be the first O Scale Model train company to present the new GE ES44AC?

Like the paint job, it will look great with the GE Hybrid.
Of course it it doesn't smoke very well, it will be prototypical
Does it have the chase lights like the first evolution?
Good Day,
This engine does not have the chase lights on the side. This type of engine will be the primary engine built for the Class I railroads in the near future.
The GE Cab 2015 is the new Tier 4 low-emissions Evolution Series locomotive. It is a 4,400 horsepower diesel-electric locomotive that meets federal EPS emissions standards more than two years ahead of the 2015 deadline.
