Did you know my late friend Francois Redde?  He had a spectacular collection of Marklin,

Bing, JEP etc.  I collect Hornby and Bing together with Lionel, MTH etc.  I'm looking for

Bing stations and a Bing six wheel tender marked 3700 or 3900.  If you can help, I would

be very grateful.

I don't know how to thank for "like" message, so I do it here!

 

Let me tell you short informations about the diorama

length: 380 cm

width: 55 cm

 

Here is the track plan with buildings; both at each end of the diorama are not yet built but plans are ready and the x-acto too!!

To say "I like", you just have to click on the bottom of the meesage where it's written like in blue.

 

JPV : tu as juste à cliquer sur le mot "like" en bleu en bas du message que tu aimes.

 

What is the company of your orange covered hoppers please? IC? ICG? Else?

thanks for posting the layout plan that's a lot of modeling in a 12 foot length. it proves you can do 2 rail in less than a warehouse. SUPER!!!!!

Here is the building of one end of the diorama (left one); the 3D drawing is from Google Sketchup; it will be made as others with 3 mm cardboard, the windows coming from Tichy TG  and the escape stairs too.

Like you I have a small surface to make layouts in comparaison with the USA basements. But I think it's possible to make lots of details and nice slow switching.

Here are the first accessories I added to my diorama

first, a roof water tank from Ameri-Towne which I have heightened and added some details; beside, the frame of a bilboard, home made

the second photo, a vent system from Barr Mills; the platform is home made too

I began the building of the warehouse (the one on the left side of the track plan and on attachment last 24th of april)

 

I have first cut all the decorative friezes, one for the top and one between each row of windows.

 

All made in cardboard 1 mm thick, but a lot of patience! tomorrow I will begin to cut the windows places.

I like to work with cardstock too.

 

My first locomotives in O and Oe (similar to On30) were all in fine cardstock (160 gr, 250 gr, 1 mm thick).

Next year, this diorama will evolve; some explanations: the room next to mine will be certainly free in 2016, and I could turn this diorama in a little layout.

 

I show you some pictures to present you this project; before beginning the layout, some works are necessary (I have to break a wall and change all the wall papers and the floor!!)

It would be nice to get in touch with you - I'm going to be in France from the 19th through the 30th - but the problem is that I'll be in the Strasbourg area and have pretty much filled out all available time.
