Hello,

I'm living in Lyon (France) and I enter your forum today.

Just a little about me: I'm 65 years old and I have always "played" with trains; now retired from the French Railways, I can have a lot of time to keep on playing!

I have built a diorama first in a french way, but for many reasons I turned it into an US way; now I try to understand all things that surround the american railways (landscape, trackside, buildings etc...) to do something realistic and interesting. I will certainly have a lot of questions to ask you!

I have also seen that other frenchies are here and it's fine!

If you can tell me how to upload photos (maximum size) I will show you what I have built.

Finally, sorry for grammatical or other spelling mistakes!!

See you soon

Thank you all for your kind messages

I will try this afternoon (in France) to post photos I have selected for you.

--->lewrail: I began to play with trains long time ago with HORNBY and JEP. My father had a BING loco but this one desappeared and there was no tender with; I can't help you more and I'm sorry.

--->SJVRR: salut Jack(y) M.

--->Yves: bonjour!

Happy to be here

See you this afternoon

Jerry,

    I don't want to speak for Sister Carmelia, but Sister Mary Edith would certainly correct your Baltimorian. The correct pronunciation is: Welcome Aboard HON! Please write it on the chalk board 100 times.

--->SJVRR: OK for "like"; the 2 covered hoppers: D & RGW

--->69nickeycama: sure it's possible to have fun on a little place, but just one floor of a little warehouse would be the paradise!!!

Here is the building of one end of the diorama (left one); the 3D drawing is from Google Sketchup; it will be made as others with 3 mm cardboard, the windows coming from Tichy TG  and the escape stairs too.

I began the building of the warehouse (the one on the left side of the track plan and on attachment last 24th of april)

I have first cut all the decorative friezes, one for the top and one between each row of windows.

All made in cardboard 1 mm thick, but a lot of patience! tomorrow I will begin to cut the windows places.

And for you, another photo of the ES44

Thank you Jack!

Next year, this diorama will evolve; some explanations: the room next to mine will be certainly free in 2016, and I could turn this diorama in a little layout.

I show you some pictures to present you this project; before beginning the layout, some works are necessary (I have to break a wall and change all the wall papers and the floor!!)

track plan (non definitive but I can't push the walls anymore!!!)
