Where did you see this? It's not on their web site. I see where they have done it in G scale but not O
Received a new product update from Bachmann.
Trainworld & @TrainWorld.com sent out an email promo this morning w/ the product info. Link below to their order page. Though a different scale, G scale eggliners always caught my eye with their unique look at Aristo-Craft's booth at York.
I wonder how well these will pull? Are they going to be a small switchers equal with weight added, or will they have the staying power of a weak handcar/trolley and cook motors if you pull anything substantial?
Maybe double/triple headed?
Is there maybe something like an unpowered "Hump-T/Dummy -T" car ? (

The concept might allow a very small loco, or odd shaped locos (compressed air/mine locos, a low calf unit, etc,) with a very small or no motor in the loco/tender, being pushed along.

Might be interested if they came out with the "ladybug" paint scheme.
Some of the Troublesome Trucks from the Thomas collection, with some paint and graphics changes of course might be appropriate.

I seen the G Scale ones before. Just scratched my head and wondered why? Of course if your one that wants it - go for it. I have numerous fantasy items I enjoy, this one just doesn't do anything.

Right on Mike D! A total waste of $$$ in my opinion, which isn't worth two cents in Century 21. Gads, what a thought...
...however, if you just gotta run an egg train, why not scratch build a whole fleet using plastic eggs? They come in all sizes too, which means even the Z scale modelers can have fun fun fun running them on his or her pike as well!

That's not eggactly something I would be interested in.
It would probably make me feel eggaspertated, for I think it might fall below my eggspectations.

Yawn. If I want novelty items, they have to be a little more exciting than an egg. 
What sounds would I add, chickens? 
I was thinking "punchbowl" comments, but, whatever sells, IF they would also use the mechanism to gin up a model, of, say, a Mack railbus or something real that once ran in America. I sure get tired of seeing the G scale Mack in the York dealer hall, and never a three rail one. (I might be able to bash something real out of one?)
Not my thing so I'm not egg-cited about these. ( you missed that one Andre LOL!)
Having said that , the Easter egg is one thing, but eggs for Independence day, Halloween and Christmas seem like a bit of a stretch.

Agree 100%. It’s a cute novelty and all, but the Williams line has so much potential that’s being ignored by Bachmann. Look at their GP30- a locomotive that was owned by many railroads over the years, yet was offered in what, 6 paint schemes? I would have bought a Conrail version in a heartbeat.

Agreed. Seems like they just took the easiest design of another item they already produce in other scales.
Hopefully WBB cancels this item for their own good. If not I expect we’ll see these at blow out prices. It’s like the Peter Witt Trolley - $229 retail price but being given away at $89. Where’s the margin in that?

Couldn't agree more. And mind you, this is the only new product from them in O gauge. I don't understand their thought process, not with the tooling they have at their disposal and so many road names they could be producing. If they're not making money on O gauge and all they can offer is an egg, the decent thing to do would be for them to simply announce they're giving up on Williams.
IMO, part of the problem with much of the WBB stuff is the MSRP. I've bought several of their engines from Trainworld, sometimes at York and sometimes online. and been very happy with them. Getting a conventional diesel for around $150 or a steamer for +/- $250 is a great deal for a runner, especially for taking to train shows. When they announce MSRP that's 75% of a Lionel or MTH engine (with more detail and command control), it kills the interest.

I'd bet there's still some margin in there. Had they put a realistic retail price on them to begin with (say $149), they probably wouldn't have to blow them out now.
On the other hand, I bet that it will run on 9" radius Superstreets and would be a novelty around a small Christmas Tree.

Might be able to use it as the foundation for this scrap yard mule. But at $139.99 I don't think so.

Bachmanns list price online is traditional significantly higher than the hobby shops normal price. They were always pretty careful not to undercut their distribution chains.
Looks like the WBB "Eggliner" announcement is not going over easy with this crowd. In an attempt to get a bigger following they might have to scrapple the idea.

Was thinking the same thing. They're probably using the drive from the GE 44-ton.
The late Jerry Williams was shrewd to sell at the top, but I bet he never imagined his company would wind up as an egg dealer.
Jerry was a tin plate guy too. I don't think fantasy tinplate inspired items would have upset him too greatly.
I for one is looking forward to these Eggliners in O scale. If they are good runners I may get two. The Christmas and the Halloween ones. They will work on those themed layouts.

My Christmas one came today. Yes it's just a handcar/trolley motor. It is cute though. Nice decorations and paint job. I'd say it's a change from watching a trolley going around. It has a cheesey hook on one end and the instructions say " for future " They were 16 months late with this one, so I'm not holding my breath.
All in all I'm happy with it. Though the price point is high for what it is.
BTW, the Bachmann/Williams website says it has directional headlights and operating marker lights. No interior illumination, apparently. Street price from Mario's Trains, for example, is $147.

All I am getting is illumination. Then again my E unit isn't working. The instructions also mention true blast. I don't see it in the parts breakdown either. sounds like there was some communication or translation problems going on here. Not sure. I did run it on Super Streets D-16 and D-21 curves and it's just fine...

TrueBlast is Williams' sound system... which I am virtually certain the eggliner doesn't have. As for illumination, I referenced the fact that it has head & marker lights, but not likely interior illumination.... is that, in fact, the case?

Just looked at the parts diagram that came with the unit. It does not show any kind of bulb or LED. I am assuming the there is an LED on the reversing unit. So no directional lighting just one big light on the inside.
