As covered in today's Trains News Wire. Kinda reminds me of a farm tractor cab..I suppose it helps being able to see what you are doing and it beats craning your neck out or peering around a corner...

Now, there's a windshield that just begs for one of those vertical-arm, non-radial windshield wipers like the Trico-Folberth Vision-All of the pre-1950 era.
Although the Trico air-powered Vision-All has not been manufactured for over 60 years, there are marine wipers that make the same sweep, using a reversible electric motor.
Tom,
I hope it has good defrosters.

Wow; there's a face only a mother could love. Looks like gobbs of better visibilty but....yikes.
The cab of switcher seems like a copy of the most recent switcher locomotives from mainland Europe made by Voith & Vossloh.

Easy fix....raise the hoods ! HAH !
That "rear window" appears to be a bigger rendition of the EMD L shaped window of the Sd45's... most were converted to smaller squarish glass due to the expense of replacements. Dejavous anyone?
I agree that replacement of the glass is something a railroad would be more concerned about than would a small locomotive manufacturer.
FRA glass is very expensive, especially if it is heated. One pane of the heated windshield glass for a contemporary GE North American cab is over $1,000.00. I hesitate to think what a windshield of the size pictured would cost.
Looks like a genset rebuild of an EMD switcher. if they didn't think about the replacement costs for the glass, I wonder what else the company overlooked in their design.
Today's riff on the Alco Century 415....

Don't worry, when it grows up the body will be in proportion to the cab.
Just saw an article on Railway Gazette news about the cab on this locomotive. It was developed by US locomotive manufacturer, Motive Power for improved visibility on switcher locomotives.
