(I attempted posting this message earlier today and immediately received a message that it had to await moderator approval to be posted and then a few hours later received email notification without explanation as to why that the post was denied. So, I'm reposting it again hoping it will be approved this time around.)

Never been to but always wanted to attend one of their open houses. Noticed in Christmas edition of another train magazine that they have three coming up - this Sunday, another on Nov. 17th and also Dec.8th. I'm certain a viewing of their layout is fantastic at anytime of year but since I'll only be able to make one of these open houses, does anyone have a particular recommendation for one of these three dates? I mean, are any of them holiday themed or will possibly offer more to see than the others? Thanks for suggestions.

Kenn, ogaugeguy

(revised note - I think since this post was approved, possibly the reason for my earlier one being disallowed was I'd used the initials of that other train magazine since that's the only change I've made to this reposted message.)

I don't think the layout will change much, but have you considered going up for Trainstock on the 18th of Jan?  You can take your own equipment and actually run on the layout, great fun!

I'm not going to make this one as our modular club has a show that weekend, but I'd have loved to go.

Ken, our show this weekend is Halloween themed, we have monsters and spiders and all kinds of scary stuff planned for the kids (all ages) as well as some scary trains running. the Nov show is a regular show and the dec 22 show will feature santa himself taking pics with the kids. hope to see you there, check out our facebook page "The New Jersey Hi-Railers Train Club" for alerts and pics
