Some of you may remember me from a year or two ago on the forum. I collect prewar streamliners.

I am pretty transient, so I had a small layout in my last place.  It was ok, but not really any room for

the streamliners to perform. I started building a second layout, long and narrow with long straights.

Of course then within about a month it was time to move so two layouts to disassemble.  I just turned

70 so carting layouts around gets old quick, but I decided to reassemble them in the new place. Just

FYI,  I am single so I don't have to worry about "you want to put WHAT in the middle of the living room".

Here are a couple of photos of the new layout, 172" x 37 1/2". Two hollow core doors on sawhorses.

Total cost $130. About an hour to set up. Marx 034 track. Old school, still using lockons and

154c contactors. At present I just finished the trackwork yesterday. Thought I would get a couple of

pics before adding stuff. It will be a permanent Christmas theme. I did accomplish two goals so

far with this layout. It will be ready for Christmas and more importantly to me, there is absolutely

no mechanical connection between the track and the table. Hence, hopefully, quiet.

Thanks for looking, JohnIMG_20191129_215859IMG_20191129_215919IMG_20191129_215938

Looking good !   You are not alone in your not having a decent space for a layout.  I operate a small, 3 x 12 experimental layout in my tiny basement.  As I have been saying, on these forums, when D2 gets her stuff out of the garage attic, then my permanent layout can be built.

So it looks like you have O42 curves with an O31 curve for the sidings.  Surprisingly, alot of stuff can be fitted on our small layouts.

Keep us posted.
