Glad to learn that you guys seem to like Lionel's new Legacy GP 30s. Just by comparison, I bought a new Lionel Legacy GP30 exactly 12 years ago. It retailed for $499, but I got it from Trainworld for $461. Out of curiosity, I compared the features list of both engines (Lionel 6-28385 to the new Lionel 2433151) and the features are identical with the exception of the new one having Bluetooth, Voice Control, and the IR transmitter for sensor track.
I would never use any of these new features and my 12 year old SF GP30 continues to run very well with no problems and most parts for it still available. I just thought it interesting to compare a couple of the same Lionel engines 12 years apart and now a hundred dollars more ($599) for those three new features. Not a terrible price increase I guess, for over a 12 year period. Could've been worse, so enjoy your new engines. 😉
