New Lionel 2017 Polar Express Scale Cars Question?

At this point, it's unlikely Lionel even knows which month these will be manufactured -- much less delivered.  

In all seriousness though... Lionel's good intent is to deliver much of 2017 Vol 2 in 1H2018, but I wouldn't be surprised if some stuff slips into 2H2018 or later.  As a point of consideration... if Lionel had planned to deliver these for Christmas 2017, the cars would have already been manufactured and possibly even on the water already.  That would have been a great surprise, but that just doesn't seem to be Lionel's business model right now.  There's probably only another month or so left to ship things from China (via regular channels) and have stuff make it on Santa's sleigh.  

I expect but have no hard data we'll see the Polar Express cars in fall of 2018. 

From Henning s pre order sheet, it's expected 2nd quarter of 2018.... Which is fine for me as I can see a beating by third rail in the first quarter 2018. Also note NONE of the 21" passenger car sets have been delivered yet. I fear the the AFT, Prr, AMTRAK, and all the other sets will arrive at the same time!

Re:  dealer info on 2017Vol2 items...  I think Lionel just threw a May 2018 "placeholder" date in the dealer sales kit.  It's as safe a date as any, but we'll certainly see I few tweaks to the schedule next year.

Re:  21" passenger cars all arriving at the same time?  Count on it!!!
