One of the traction tires on my new J has come off.
Should I: (1) replace it (2) put it back on (3) put it back on with glue?
If the recommendation is to glue it back on, what is the best glue and how is it done?

Once a tire comes off it's stretched and no good. Put a new one on.

Do not use glue.....that’s asking for a ******* mess.....as Lou mentioned above, put a new tire on, make sure it’s seated in the groove nicely and roll on......it probably wasn’t seated all the way from the get-go, and finally popped off....Pat
In my experience, Put a new MTH tire on, they are far better.
I use MTH tires, some of the Lionel tires are too thick and bind on the brake shoes.
For sure, once they come off, they're done, but more likely to come off under a heavy load.
Just for curiosity, what radius curve are you running it on?
Plus one on the MTH tires...much better experience with those
Ricko, I am running it on 072 and it has only been pulling 7 MTH flats with military loads and a modern era caboose(all have modern era fast angle type wheels so an easy load).

I hope you called and complained about the stripe if applicable on your model. These have a better chance of being corrected if they have enough folks wanting it.
