Was doing some work on the layout today. Then moved two locomotives around since installing new lighting last weekend. Noticed a couple things while doing this. 1) The 4449 Daylight has no safety chains to the tender trucks but seems to have the provisions for it.

2) On the Allegheny, the gap in the rear plate to tender.

I don't want to sound negative or gripe here but I'm just saying for a Legacy unit of this cost I think these are minor things that should of been done added.

On my lionel Legacy Y6B and MTH Premier the tender plates (sorry don't know correct terminology) are spot on and included those pics as well for comparison. This is just an observation as it's not like I'm going to sell them off for this. I'm the farthest thing from a river counter but for being Legacy and well over $1000 it would have been a nice added touch

I think it may depend on when the model was actually made, i.e. some Legacy models are re-issues from earlier molds, but outfitted with latest sounds and smoke features, etc. I agree some MTH Premier models are outstanding with regards to details and casting. However, the new Lionel Reading T1 is a new mold - and it is outstanding in every way; super close engine to tender gap, fully cylindrical boiler, and comparing with the Premier T1 the Lionel model edges out due to aforementioned improvements.

Well,,,,,I sure wouldn't state "outstanding in every way", since the Reading T1 model actually has the trailing truck from the Milwaukee S3 model of #261!
