Hello everyone,

I think I discovered a problem with the Bluetooth programming on the new Lionel Legacy N&W J locomotives.  When you try to run the locomotives via Bluetooth on your smartphone with the LionChief app, the app will link to the locomotive, but you get a generic profile of the locomotive that says “Lionel Steam Locomotive 1234”.  Every other Bluetooth Lionel locomotive I have will show the cab number and a matching profile.  Attached is a screenshot of the issue.  I have two of the new J locomotives and they are both showing the same generic locomotive.

Does anyone else have the same issue?

Dave Olson - what should be correct in this situation?

I updated the app on my phone and the issue is still the same.  Also removed and reinstalled - still the same issue.

Marty, are you saying that Lionel needs to update the app from their end (looks like the last update was 6 months ago on the Apple App Store).

Most likely yes. The app contains the graphic so if it’s not there for a particular engine you get the generic version until they get the database updated with the graphic for the specific engine.
