Well I just got my sw1200 runs great but the rear coupler won't operate. The sound works but won't open. Also there is no buzzing from the coupler. The front works great. Any advise.

Call Lionel, get an RA (return authorization) and pack your engine in the original box, the shipper, and into a third box for safe secure delivery. They will give you an RA and a shipping label. Do not open the engine it will void the warranty.
Before you go to the trouble of returning your new diesel, make sure you give the engine an ID# and then do a Reset. If this doesn’t correct the issue, return to Lionel for warranty repair. Be sure to pack the engine really good, they will send it back in the same box. Good luck. Happy Railroading Everyone
I had a chance to look things over on the loco and I found a bare wire that was cut on the coupler wiring very close to the mounting screw. I needed to use my optivisor and a micro soldering iron to connect the wire ends. The coupler now works. All is ok.
