Last week I purchased a 2021 Premier Big Boy Restoration (20-3807-1). After running it a few times it will no longer start and the MTH DCS controller doesn't recognize its presence on the track.

Despite running it for less than 10 minutes total I have had to add/remove it to my track several times so other replies in this forum RE: "Check the 4 pin mating tether socket to mounting PCB solder joints. They are known to get cracked from the tether being plugged in and out or jerked on." sounded right to me.

I replaced my tender with one from my J-1 2-10-4 and to my surprise the Big Boy is back up and running.

What should I check for in my Big Boy tender?

Hi the number engine you gave is ps 3 it that's correct I would suggest a conventional reset with  Z40000 transformer! sounds like it's not saving your address when engine shuts down could be a super cap or you could have a bad board. conventional reset sometime works and then try starting up again when you do a conventional reset you should get 2 whistle toots.
