It’s a problem with Microsoft IE9! I’ve tried, successfully, with Google Chrome. Thanks Chris.

Lucas,

There are PREMIER 2-bay CenterFlow Hoppers in the Grand Trunk Western scheme with the number series for former Detroit & Toledo ShoreLine cars.

I plan on getting the GTW ACF 2-bay pair to go with the Premier D&TS ACF CenterFlow 2-bay hoppers released several years ago.

I am getting away very cheap on this catalog, one Genset and a six pack of Sunoco tanks. may get a 3 pack of the railking ones also. Nothing else floats the boat.

John

Already E-mailed Sean that I want a pair in PHL with scale wheels and fixed pilots. We kinda have to run them at the club since PHL does the local rail service for the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach.

Now all we need is a chop-nosed GP9 or two for Harbor Belt Line. Will probably have to put that one together myself.

Nope. There were no low nose SD45s on the N&W roster. I took a look at the MTH catalog illustration of the NS SD45. It's decorated with the road number of 1700 so it appears MTH is using the former EL/CR SD45-2s which are currently assigned by NS to the Conrail Shared Assets territory in New Jersey as the basis for the model. I see these units along the Chemical Coast Line quite frequently and they are substantially different from the standard SD45.  As a footnote, several ex-EL/Conrail SDP45s were employed by NS for a spell beginning in 1984 as well.

I expect to see the Premier version of the high nose SD45 painted in N&W and NS liveries at some point in the future.

I remember the N&W SD45s well. I have a few of the Athearn high nose units in HO. One of them is the Bicentennial 1776.

Here are the former EL Dash 2 units which now wear the 1700 series numbers:

They are impressive beasts for sure!

Here is one of the precious few ex-N&W SD45s which received NS livery:

I'll way in on the catalog.  Because I am from Northeastern Ohio and grew up 10 miles outside of Cleveland, I believe the Cleveland Terminal will sell out immediately!  You can pretty much say the same for the Wheeling & Lake Erie SD40, Ohio Central RS3 as well.  Local dealers have a hard time keeping anything local on the shelves for long. A real hard time!  Now if only MTH would Come out with more ACY,  that this area has been asking for. HMMM.....

Chris

I really like the Premier Nickel Plate GP-9. I'm not sure I can fit it into my budget though.

I do think their choice of road number #482 is quite interesting though. As the real #482 was destroyed in a deadly accident along with a couple other Geeps just 4 months after it was delivered. They had a second #482 that took it's place, but still, an interesting road number choice.

FiremanChris - I'd love some ACY stuff. Been asking for a Rail King boxcar for several years.

BTW - SIRT's weathering on the MTH ACY boxcar (from the merger set produced several years back) in the weekend photo fun thread is worth looking at if you haven't seen it already. He does amazing work!

Thanks Scott!

I picked up the ACY car from those amazing rare MTH prototypes on the bay.

It was a car I could spot miles away while crossing NY harbor by ferry in the 1960’s.

Only Weaver made one ACY 40’ box car. I never knew MTH made one although it is incorrect as usual. ACY had mostly combination door cars which no one wants to make in O for some reason.

You could always pick out an ACY car on a car float crossing the harbor.

It was one of the last fallen flag roads I needed to complete the O collection.
