maybe the combo car but I like the animated 3' figures
I didn't even notice the combo first time thru, to me a passenger consist just looks unfinished if it has a baggage and no combine so I'll be having to get one of them.

Of the new items I'll definitely get the combination car. Of the older items I would like to add 6-37090 (PE searchlight car) and 6-81117 (PE depressed center flatcar with bell) if I can ever find them. Also hoping to add a Polar Railroad I-12 caboose and the Polar Railroad PS-4 flatcar (6-27840) with trailers to go with Legacy Polar RR GP7 that I just bought. Kind of a mix and match set up with different size rolling stock and Polar Express plus Polar Railroad, but I run them on separate lines and the grand kids enjoy the theme. Bought the Polar RR GP7 without knowing what legacy meant or that my CW80 transformer isn't really optimal as a power unit. Somewhere in all of this I need to budget for replacing the transformer for the Polar RR line. Oooh, that impulse buy might have been a mistake!
The Polar Express 6-82100 Hero Boy's Home has been out for a while now I received mine back on December 7.
On my 9500 PRR "Combo" car, it is actually marked as an full length RPO car. Because one cannot see inside, and it is shorter than scale, guess you can have the car the way one wants it!>
Elves at last...although the price is an oucher...only in train hobby are the prices for plastic stuff so ridiculous.
Why didn't Lionel come out with a lion chief PLUS Berkshire?????!!!!
im considering buying a MTH berk to replace the lion chief berk that came with our set. It's ok and all but the chuff sound becomes annoying after 5 minutes and the smoke system sucks. I had to modify it in order for it to keep working and I want the cruise control too.
Anyone have any luck with MTH locomotives?? I'll be forfeiting the lionchief remote I guess but I'm kinda over that locomotive. I want more realistic effects.. And I considered one of the new lionchief plus hudsons or mikados but I think my set really needs a Berkshire pulling the cars.
any thoughts??

Lionel made a lionchief polar express. I believe that was the only lionchief Berkshire though.
What! No comments about the wonderful artwork on the PE boxcar two-pack? What about the "Personalized PE Express Baggage car?
And, not to hijack this thread, but, it also deserves mentioning the artwork on the Smithsonian Old St. Nick boxcar and Angela Trotta Thomas Caboose and boxcar.
I am in for a few more add on cars and elves. My kids love the Polar Express (I do too!). Our Christmas layout is becoming a wonderful family tradition. My in-laws make a special trip over to see it when it first goes up. I will be first in line for a Polar Express LC+ engine. I really liked the Legacy PE, but it was just out of my price range. I will also look at the Station and/or the house.
