New single stall modern diesel house

Nice job.  Looks very prototypical for many of today's shortlines.  Google pictures of the Lakeville,Avon, and Livonia Railroad or the Bath and Hammondsport Railroad and you should see pictures of engines houses that look very similar.

That is quite nice.  Neat and tidy looking.  Very well done.  Are there many single-engine houses int he real world?  There must be some: even though there is an economy of scale in building multi-unit ones, a single unit building would have certain good uses in places.   I just have never paid attention I guess.

Thank you gentlemen. This structure is intended for a shoreline or industrial railroad with one or two locomotives. It is perfect for the new Williams GE 44 toner. A longer version will fit two. Many railroads used single stall engine houses all around the country. It is perfect for industrial use at a gravel pit or large grain mill. Also, many industries used their houses for repairs while storing the locos outside. I will have more photos soon when it is finished. I built the smaller one as my railroad doesn't have the real estate required for a larger one. One of the nice things about this one is it has interior walls already detailed. A tiny office can be added in the corner from styrene or card stock.

Tom, looks great.  Is this your first "modern" structure?

Now if you could do it in a two stall version with nice, big windows for viewing the interior!!!

I guess this is my first say 1960's structure, yes. Seems more and more modelers are doing "modern" times so why not go along. A two stall is easy to do, however, most windows in these types of structures were rather small.  I can do a two stall for a special price if that's what you want. You could use Grandt windows.

Yes they are Plastruct with special cast resin joints for strength.

OK gentlemen, here is your chance. I am prepared to do a single and a double stall house, two, three or four sections in length. Each section is about 7" in length. Your choice. all styrene kit except for detail castings of resin. Extra resin sets available. A single stall two length is $125 and a double stall two length is $150. Each 7" section is $45 for single and $50 for double. 

Send no money now. I am only asking for a number of who wants a kit. Number will determine production. If you want one, please say so.

I am most certainly interested. A 1 stall would be all the room I have.  Silly questions and forgive me for asking, how would this work if I am using MTH RealTrax???  Also and not nearly as important would there be different colors available for the structure itself???  I was just curious.  And last but not least if i have a MTH railking  SD70ACe Diesel, how many sections would i need to fit this engine comfortably?  Once again thank you!!!

You can simply cut a track-way in the plywood base (not included) to allow the track to go through the house. since this is a kit, you have the choice of any color you would like to spray it. A three section engine house would be about 20" inside and a four section would add another 6-1/2" for a total length of 26-1/2" in length.
