Yes, I have, don't know what to add, the website photos of the store pretty much shows what the store is about.
I was there last week. The guy I talked to was very knowledgable about postwar stuff. They have alot of product in stock including modern Lionel RTR. They did not have any Gargrave product, mostly FasTrak. I wish them the best of luck, we have only four major players here on the sandbar, all spread miles apart.
Thank you for the info. I am happy to learn that there is a new store out (somewhat) East. I've seen some stores come and go. I wish them success. I have a few items to sell and will go visit soon.
I'm gonna check it out this week
They've been conducting live Facebook auctions for a few years and now have a store. I've purchased a few items from them and they're always better then expected. I hope the store does well.
James
A work colleague knows the owner.
Nice to see a new player in the mix.

That store is way out on the Island. 2hr drive from Manhattan at 3am in the morning.
You drive too responsibly, Eddie. You can do it in an hour at 3 am. An hour and a half at other times, assuming you can use the HOV.
Jeff is one of the owners, ….I made a pretty major purchase right before Christmas, in the midst of them trying to open the store,…..Jeff made sure I was taken care of from start to finish, and even followed up once he’d seen my engine was delivered,…..excellent service, down to earth folks, …..I’d certainly purchase from them again, ……I hope the store does well,…..

If you do this (going at 3:00AM) Eddie, plan on a loooong breakfast somewhere - the store does not open until 10:00AM
I know of two major players on Long Island, Trainland/Trainworld and Nassau Hobby Center. Who are the other two?
That’s a great video! If I ever finally make that NY train store tour trip, I’m starting here. 👍😎
5 miles from my house to Port Jeff Ferry and then 20 miles from the Port Jeff. This looks like nice Saturday trip in the spring.

I once did the Midtown Tunnel at 1 AM to Lindenhurst in 20 minutes.
Piece o cake! 🤣🤣
I live in Ronkonkoma. Looks like a neat place! I’ll go check it out ASAP.
I've known Jeff and his partner Vinny for many years and actually did some repair work for them. They also bought part of my collection when I moved to Florida. They are great guys who are fair with their pricing. Good luck to you all. Lenny
I have bought from Jeff (one of the owners) over the last couple years when they were more of an on line presence only to just made a purchase this week. One thing I like when dealing with whomever is a good level of customer service or just simply getting back to me on an inquiry. They provide both and have a mix of product from pre, post and modern items. If you cant visit in person recommend calling as they have more inventory then what is online. Great store and individuals.

Looks like a store that has something for everyone's taste. Nice to see a new store opening. I wonder if the gentleman purchase that store or is he renting it. I hope he does great. This has probably been a dream of his for a long time.

Remind me to never get in a car with you, Bob
I bought a NOS Atlas engine from them last spring. I spoke with a nice guy there, sure didn't get any discounted price.

Were you supposed to get a discounted price?…..if not, there’s two letters you can put together to stop that…… N & O …..they spell NO,…ie; no thank you, or no, I don’t want it,….😉

It’s clearly a strip mall store, Jim, if you use Google maps to view the location. That means it’s leased.
If you go there, the store is just to the north/east/right of King Kullen. Parking is dicey on the weekends. I parked way back to avoid the shenanigans near the building.
Have purchased many things from them on da'bay over the years. So happy to hear they have done enough business to now have a brick & mortar store. Wishing them all the best!

Krosshardware.com is a “for sale” domain. Not usually a good sign for a business.
I have bought from the, on ebay and live sales. Good guys and pretty funny when they go at it.
Bayshore Hobbies recently opened a new larger store (about double the original store's size, if not larger) next door to their old store.
Looks like good things are happening on LI for the hobby
I think it's wonderful when a new Train Store opens. Having a existing store enlarge, is also wonderful. More space means more product. To me this is a all win situation for the people that live near these stores.

No worries Paul. I was driving a 18' box truck. It was a Volvo with turbo diesel....that #$%@ could move.

Willis Hobbies in Mineola sells trains too. Not as much as they used to (mostly RC cars now) but they are still plugging along.

I couldn't say "no" ... the heart wants, what the heart wants.
They had it. I wanted it. I paid more than the current Atlas list price of this engine. Much more than the list price at the time Atlas actually offered this particular roadname. Free market capitalism. lol

Sometimes I can’t say no either!…..😉

Last time I was at Kross Hardware Tommy told me he was cutting back on the train business. Haven't been there in over five years, but used to purchase a lot of trains from there.
Haven't been to NY Electric Trains, but I think I saw a post recently about them on this forum. Don't they sell mostly preowned and older modals?
Willis Hobbies sells very little train stuff these days, some O gauge and HO, but mostly RC modes as mentioned above.
I need to check out Bayshore Hobbies.

Last time I was at Willis I had asked one of the guys what happened. He said they barely made it through the Covid lockdowns and had to make some tough decisions or close completely. He was already selling more RC so they went all in.
They sold off the nice layout they had in the window and cleared out the 2nd floor of the building with plans to rent it out.

I was at Kross hardware a few weeks ago. Bought three NIB 3rd Rail LIRR Brass P54’s.

I was at Willis Hobbies a few months ago. They got rid of the two layouts in the front and the overhead layout. I think the store was bought by one of the customers. I think I saw the old owner in the back by the train counter with a dwindling supply. I’ve shopped at this store on and off for 50 years. They used to have a massive layout in the basement and hosted birthday parties, etc. Nassau Hobby in Freeport is a good store as is Trainland in Lynbrook. I bought my first O scale engine at Kross Hardware. I’ll check out Bayshore Hobbies.
