Winter is the time for working on the trains.
I decided to fool around with some 5mm and 3 mm micro led's. Truthfully, they are a PITA to do, but I like the effect. They don't throw a lot of light, but the idea of running these on battery power instead of transformer power was appealing because I didn't have to run wires to a bus, or any of the transformers. Just wire to the battery and a simple on/off switch.
This is a 30 year old platform from long ago, on the overhead layout. I don't run the wires underneath to keep them hidden. They can't be seen at all from the floor.
A new 15 X 30 inch backdrop from a famous rendering of the old stadium. Dave, at Backdrop Junction, was able to work the photo I sent him into this size. The metal railings were made by the kids in shop as a project. All I did was drill the ten small holes in each and spray paint them.
Dave also sent this 18 X 60 inch backdrop of the Washington DC area. It hides a lot of the large power wires. Getting two 1/4 inch black foam boards up there required some nailing with brads, so, I couldn't spray glue it down before mounting it. It's hung with velcro and is hanging loosely until I get used to it and am sure it won't sag anywhere.
This awesome art came today from Stoddart's Ltd. in Georgia. 21 X 15 inches, about 9 pounds. I think it is so cool, I decided on this post. Hope you like it as much as I do. Those of you who attend the Big E are more than aware of their products. It was in a forum post this week, that I first saw this. Thanks guys.
I gave the husband and wife business a call on Tuesday. Two days, Fed Ex, from Georgia to Connecticut. Can't beat that.
As always, hope you get some ideas from these pics.
