UP and Operation Lifesaver have a new billboard on US 59 South just South of the North Loop 610 interchange. Has a pic of a 4300 hp engine with doublestack cars. The top of the ad states: A train travels 41 feet in one second; look twice! Then has UP and OL logos. Nicely done!

I wounded how they picked 41 feet per second? That is only 28 MPH.
An average maybe? Most of the trains that tear through town here are going 55+
I'm off one day this week. I need to go by again. I may have read it wrong. OL usually 55 mph in theri slides.
I just saw that billboard two days ago! I was in Houston this past weekend and caught a glimpse of it as we were driving in to town. Thanks, I almost forgot that I saw that.
