Watching the engines side rods and reciprocating parts it is just amazing that men built this machine and many others and had no help from the engineering tools they have today.
Great video! I used to take my grandson to the Strasburg RR often, since it was only an hour's drive. He started when he was 2. By 4, he always said, "can we ride in the parlor car?". Sure. Currently, he's 13, and now lives near Boston. More into sports now, anyway.
I must say those of us in South Central Pennsylvania are truly spoiled to have such an amazing steam railroad so close to us. As a regular visitor and friend of some of the crew members, their hard work and dedication to preserving a lost art is truly incredible and should always be recognized.
