The first two parts of a three part series are posted. "A Week In Wheaton, Illinois" is my longest video yet, and part three will have something very special!

Why don't you edit out all the bad camera moves and other time-wasting stuff to make this more concise and a bit faster-paced? You are over a minute into the first video before we even see a train.
You also need a tripod - a MOTION tripod, not a STILL tripod. There is a difference.
Good grief! Way too difficult to watch, what with all the zooming in & out, plus being hand-held. Couldn't get more than a few minutes into each video. Guess he has to start somehow.
Thank you for your advice and letting me know of this problem. I had put all the footage in photos, and trimmed it down. When I put it in iMovie though, the clips apparently reverted to their original form. I just finished trimming part 1 and it will be replaced soon. My birthday is coming up on the 13th and I'm hoping to get a tripod, as my old one broke.
Brody, when you get your new tripod, make sure it is a MOTION tripod, not a STILL tripod. There is a difference. It is impossible to make smooth camera moves using a video camera on a still tripod head.
This is what a still tripod head looks like:
It has THREE handles for pan, tilt and z-axis leveling. Each handle can be loosened so you can frame the shot, then tightened to lock it in place. However, this kind of tripod is designed to be positioned for a shot and then all three handles are locked down so the head does not move when you take a still shot.
A motion tripod head will have only a single handle, called the pan/tilt handle, like this:
Motion tripods can be adjusted to provide a little "drag" when you move the pan/tilt handle. This drag enables you to make glass-smooth pans and tilts, which is what you need to produce good, smooth video.
I'm looking forward to seeing your re-edited video.
Rich,
Thanks for letting me know which tripod I should get. I had a motion tripod before and it worked well.
The new video is up now.
Part 2 is now edited and posted.
