Here's a quick one I put together. I 'm sure others with more camera skills will add them in due time.

Ron, congrats on your Big Boy purchase
Your video is fine. That whistle is awesome! Enjoy that bad boy!
I can hardly wait to get mine.
It just keeps getting better every time I see a video of the new VL BB.
Just to contrast, I ran my JLC Legacy BB today. Though the VL one has a few years technology on it, it still sounds great. However, the whistle on the VL BB is light years beyond it. Sure someone like HotWater could tell us if its 'correct'.
I love the deep whistle on the new VL BB.
I can't wait to see the VL and JLC BBs working PFE reefer trains on my new layout next year.
Great video, enjoyed it.
Congrats Ron!
In my humble opinion, to date that is the Best looking and sounding Locomotive that Lionel has made. Iam sure you get thousands of miles of Great running
Have fun and enjoy!
This is not a home run, it is a Grand Slam!!!
Mike Reagan should be very proud of this project. He delivered on time and with great results.
Don't forget Jon Z and Rudi. They are the tech and sound wizards behind this engine
You betcha, Chris. I am sure there are many who deserve a pat on the back at Lionel for this one.

I see you selected that "staggered exhaust" feature.
Awesome.
Enjoy it
Alex
WOW !! 12/29 is around the corner.
Thanks for posting
Brent
That is quite the fine loco and video. I don't have one, it's way too large for my toy layout, but I enjoy the the pics and videos from those who do. Enjoy!!
I remember Matt Ashba remarking of how the sound of one of these are really something... Like no other Loco Lionel has ever made before. Lionel just keeps raising the bar. If they sound that good on a video camera I can only imagine how good they are watching them up close and personal!
Thanks for the comments guys. The sounds are way better in person than on video. The whistle is unreal.
HW, the staggered exhaust is the default from the factory. I'll try it out in sync mode tomorrow. While not prototypical, it is a great visual effect. The sheer volume of smoke is far more than any other loco I've seen.
If there is a negative on this engine, it is that the whistle smoke is tough to see if the main stacks a puffing away. I was just running it a for a bit with main stacks off and the whistle blow down on. Very nice.

big boy 4-8-8-4 be upgraded to proto 2 or proto 3 and what else is needed besides the proto 2 or three boards ,are (harness wiring needed)im assuming the boards must be put inside the engine Tender where there is room. you need the 10 pin harness correct!?sincerely interested alan
Congrats!
Looks great. I must say, from all of the videos thus far, the smoke output appears to be very impressive!!
Well, I can see that I have messed up, I really see a Huge Difference in this VL BB.
I will begin the Hunt!!! Really Neat Video. I would like to hear the VL BB Legacy Start Up Sounds. Merry Christmas....
On the video posted yesterday it was noted that the smoke pulsed in unison which HW I believe pointed out was prototypical. No mention was made of a 'selectable' alternating feature. It looks really neat!
Absolutely incredible sound! Jaw dropping!
Alan
Okay, that whistle sound is out of this world.
The Sound System sort of reminds me of the VL Challenger?? Am I hearing this correctly?
Its Amazing...Wow....
Larry
Yes it has a speaker in the boiler and the tender. I believe the VL Challenger was the same setup.
Thank You Marty E. I have The VL Challenger and it has a Great Whistle...The Echo Effect is Fantastic. So, I will be on the hunt for a new VL BB...
WOW!!
I am really happy I have one coming Friday...
Tracking my BB and it's suppose to be in on Monday and the end of the day. Can't hardly wait!!!
No mention was made of a 'selectable' alternating feature. It looks really neat!
Mentions are made about it in the manual, and the 40+ min unpacking/demo video Lionel put out last week.

I don't remember seeing that described in the video, but Lionel's web site has the owner's manual and it describes how to do it. You can read it now on-line. I've been through it several times and I think it was great planning on Lionel's part to post it in advance of releasing the locomotive. Hope they do the same for future releases.

It was originally designed to alternate from the get go. Hotwater contacted Lionel and informed them that it was inaccurate months ago when Lionel put up the "demo video."
Jon Z adjusted the elctronics to make it "user selectable" for folks who wanted accurate/ dual, or neat/ inaccurate independant chuffing.
This was an excellent move on Lionel/JonZ's part, and evidence that they do "listen".
IMO for $2000 it should be as" accurate" as it is" fun", and thats what they did
Impressive!
Happy for all those that ordered these and thanks for sharing pictures and videos.
