I can hardly wait to get mine.

It just keeps getting better every time I see a video of the new VL BB.

Just to contrast, I ran my JLC Legacy BB today.  Though the VL one has a few years technology on it, it still sounds great.  However, the whistle on the VL BB is light years beyond it.  Sure someone like HotWater could tell us if its 'correct'.

I love the deep whistle on the new VL BB.

I can't wait to see the VL and JLC BBs working PFE reefer trains on my new layout next year.

Great video, enjoyed it.

Thanks for the comments guys. The sounds are way better in person than on video. The whistle is unreal.

HW, the staggered exhaust is the default from the factory. I'll try it out in sync mode tomorrow. While not prototypical, it is a great visual effect. The sheer volume of smoke is far more than any other loco I've seen.

If there is a negative on this engine, it is that the whistle smoke is tough to see if the main stacks a puffing away. I was just running it a for a bit with main stacks off and the whistle blow down on. Very nice.

Mentions are made about it in the manual, and the 40+ min unpacking/demo video Lionel put out last week.

I don't remember seeing that described in the video, but Lionel's web site has the owner's manual  and it describes how to do it. You can read it now on-line.  I've been through it several times and I think it was great planning on Lionel's part to post it in advance of releasing the locomotive.  Hope they do the same for future releases.

It was originally designed to alternate from the get go. Hotwater contacted Lionel and informed them that it was inaccurate months ago when Lionel put up the "demo video."

Jon Z adjusted the elctronics to make it "user selectable" for folks who wanted accurate/ dual, or neat/ inaccurate independant chuffing.

This was an excellent move on Lionel/JonZ's part, and evidence that they do "listen".

IMO for $2000 it should be as" accurate" as it is" fun", and thats what they did
