After the last batch of wagons I made sold out I have decided to produce another batch of Hornby M1 compatible wagons.
Here is a picture of some prototypes being tested this arvo.
The new wagon types are a bolster wagon (rear) and a BR insulated container wagon (middle). Sadly these were never offered by Hornby for their M1 range.
The lumber wagon (front) is the prototype of the last batch but is being used to test different wheel materials. The good news is that after several hundred laps a new improved polyurethane mix has been chosen that will make a even stronger more durable wheel that is closer in finish to the bakerlite wheels offered in the 1930’s. Of course the wheels will be dyed black on production models.
They should retail in the $20 - $25 USD price range. (I live in Australia but postage to the USA and Uk is rather cheap. The last two wagons I sent to Minnesota only cost $25 to post.)
Each one will have a serial number in case one day they become collectable.
If you are interested please send me an email to the address in my profile.
I will post some more pictures of the prototypes tomorrow.
Kind Regards
Jamie
