A new webcam has been installed at Dawlish on the former GWR line to Penzance. This section of railway had been washed away in recent months but Network Rail had the line rebuilt and service restored in a remarkably brief period of time given the extent of the damage. The image from the camera is very clear and there is even a train tracker so you know where the trains are. An interesting mix of equipment from a variety of train operating companies uses the line. During this time of the year, weekend traffic to coastal points is very heavy and this line is a favored route of railtours so steam and classic diesel locomotives can be seen as well.
