After chatting with a few folks at York, we decided to do some investigation into angled shadowboxes. Instead of being only 1" deep, these shadowboxes will have sides that create an increasing offset from the wall. The idea is to create more 3-dimensional realism on your layout. We plan to make them with an offset of 1/2" and 1" per 12" long shadowbox. If you do the math, a 3-piece shadowbox set that is offset 1/2" per end will be 1" deep on one end and 2-1/2" deep on the other end. A 3-piece shadowbox that is offeset 1" per end will be 1" deep on one end and 4" deep on the other end. An end that is at least 4" deep will have provision for either a plain elevation or an elevation with windows.

Prototype pictures of just the shadowboxes are shown below.

We would like some feedback:

1. Do you like the idea and will you purchase them?

2. Would you be intrested in the model in kit form?

3. If you are interested in the model in kit form, do you want the elevation pieces and windows already painted or will you paint them yourself. Either way, the shadowbox pieces would require assembly.
