I started these 5 NYC cabooses yesterday afternoon. I’m about ready to install roofs, cupolas and end platforms. I will post some progress shots later this week.

Those handrails would drive me nuts making them up! I admire your skill Malcolm. Roo.
Nice work thus far'... I see in you have in you storage cabinet, a window tool'. Exactly, what is that. I do a lot of scratch building and I'm curious as I haven't seen a jig or a tool exsplicity for windows'... other than for sizing scratched windows'...

Looks real nice so far, can't wait for mine! Doug
Malcolm the handrails and ladders are great. Are the 400 nail holes to connect all the wire rails or to simulate the hardware holding the siding on the cab?
Have you considered using an Overstitch wheel to do the nail holes?
Let us know if you will be making more or if any are available for purchase, please. Nice work! Thanks.

I’m going to give it a try. I have one extra in case I mess it up. Several years ago while building 2 cabs for a client I dropped one and ruined it. Ever since then I build an extra or two.
thanks
I went back and checked all my photos and the nail holes were only visible on 2 of the 8. They were the most dilapidated of the bunch so I only applied them to 3 of the models. Thanks for the ideas,
