So over the summer I took 3 trips to see Nickel Plate Road 755 on display in Conneaut Ohio. It's been repainted and looks great. I kick myself for not going to Conneaut when 765 dead headed through the old Nickel Plate Hub. Oh Well.
Please Enjoy.

she looks great, like she's ready to head out on a run. we went up and saw her around 2005, and she had some rust thru in a few places. Looks like that was taken care of.
thanks for sharing.
765 passed through Conneaut under its own power on Wed., Sept. 9, but the 755 is exhibited along the former NYC main (CSX). There are a dozen or so city blocks in between the railroads and you can't see the 755 from the NKP mainline.
The 755 is a zero miles locomotive that was overhauled at Conneaut shops in early 1958 and never ran except maybe for a break-in run.
However, the 755 has been sitting outdoors exposed to the rain and snow for about 50 years now. The weather is taking an increasing toll on the 755 that a superficial paint job will not correct.

I would be nice to see an over hang of some kind. Unlikely 755 would be restored in the future, I wouldn't even if I could press and button and "done." I try not to think about the condition a lot of these locomotives are in, particularly the ones kept outside.
IIRC...when we were up there, the lady we talked to mentioned that their membership was shrinking because of age, and she wondered how much longer they would be a group.
What would the possibility of a group like the FWRRHS have of getting one or more of these park engines when they deteriorate to the point where no one wants to maintain them and the city wants them gone? What's the timeline of restoring 763?
