The New Jersey HiRailers Rubsam & Hormann Brewing Co. 36' Woodside Reefer Car Set, #185 & #2003, have arrived. The car was produced by MTH for the NJHIRAILERS.

The R&H Brewery was located on State Island, NY. We posted a little history about the Brewery on our website which is;

Here are a few pictures of this spectacular car. My apologies as I used a real old digital camera for these shots.

Rub Sam and Horrible!

I guess you drank this stuff before they went out of business in 1952

The R&H beer car is from MTH and is beautiful   A couple of rivet counters criticized the use of roller bearing trucks so here is the story on that.  R&H brewery was purchased by Piels in 1952,  The reefer was left on the siding until the NJ HiRailers came along to restore it  We couldn't move the car with the arch bar trucks because it didnt meet modern safety standards  The trucks were upgraded so we could get it to the siding in Paterson  I think the restored car looks beautiful

S-Helper did this car for me, LeBlanc Trains, about ten years ago in two numbers. Don and I designed it at his shop. It is a totally fabricated design  car put together by Don and myself using a coaster and our imagination. Never actually existed in full scale.  The run was for 300 of each number. They have different color roofs. The car shown even has the B.D.G.X. on it still. The bdg stands for "Big Daddy George". The X indicates it was a rental car. They really researched that history good. . Of course mine are in S Gauge Scale.
